Harry Ramsden’s at the Three Bridges, South Queensferry. This place takes dogs inside in the end room – pictured. Also a lovely large terrace outside with stunning view of the three bridges. Car park an added bonus on busy days.
Right in the town centre on the Main Street. Sunny terrace where you can sit on a summer evening before or after walking by the loch. Dogs welcome inside too if there are no seats outdoors. Menu with a wide appeal.
Delightful dog-friendly bistro with a relaxed earthy feel. Very good menu. Outside seating too with lovely views of the beach and across the Firth of Forth. Added bonus that it is open till 11pm! We’ll be back!

Thriving and popular organic and whole food shop and café. Lots of walking and cycling options on the doorstep. No dogs inside, but the orchard is a beautiful spot to sit with your pooch on a sunny afternoon.
Delightful coffee shop with good lunch menu. Very dog and child friendly – lots of children’s toys available. Easy walking distance from Black Sands and the play park. Closed Monday Tuesday.
Update November 2020: The Café have done a great job of refurbishing during lockdown. Quirky idea to mount spare chairs at ceiling level and plants used imaginatively as dividers. As dog-friendly as ever!
Unprepossessing cafe very near the King’s Theatre. Plenty of seating, fully dog-friendly, and has the advantage that it is open in the early evening and does food! Service can be very slow if there is only one member of staff on.
Orocco Pier has a lovely sheltered patio out the back with a stunning view of the Forth rail bridge. Small covered seating area. If you have pooch(es) small enough, you are allowed to carry them through the restaurant!
Craigie Farm, just off the A90, has a dog friendly outdoor area round the side by the children’s playground. No dogs allowed inside here but a popular place for young families. Good food.
