Finsbay, Milngavie

Finsbay, Milngavie. Delightful. Thoroughly deserves its five star trip advisor rating. Lively and upbeat in the early evening. Cullen skink and salmon salad both excellent. Highly recommend. Just round corner from start/end of West Highland Way.

Second visit 14 Aug: Delighted we were able to borrow TWO dog bowls so Suzy could both drink and eat too. (We had our own food for her). Delightful place with a great menu – clearly very popular

The Olde Toll House tea room, West Linton

The Olde Toll House tea room in West Linton – just next to the playground in the park. Good soup but they don’t do real bread here – not enough demand apparently. Coffee machine is noisier than a washing machine so bring your ear plugs!

View from the adjoining park – the tea room is the building in the centre distance.

Patisserie Florentin, Stockbridge

Florentine’s in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Another favourite haunt. Lunch yesterday – cosy as ever on a blustery day. Try the salad with avocado with an extra half-half portion of chicken and bacon! Yummy!

If you are a regular here, ask for a loyalty card – you can earn credits towards a free coffee!

PS pain au raisin really tasty – ask for it warmed up!

Welcome!

Whether you ARE a pooch or are a human WITH a pooch, hopefully you will find this blog of some help if, like us, you are out and about and looking for somewhere for lunch or coffee or even an evening meal where dogs are just as welcome as people INSIDE!

Everywhere listed here is somewhere we have visited ourselves with our two terriers, Toby and Suzy, and where we have all been made welcome.

We live in Edinburgh, Scotland, so many of our recommendations are in our neck of the woods. But we get out and about quite a bit too, so plenty of other places feature here as well!

If you are visiting one of our favourite haunts and happen to see us there, do come and say hello!
